Beritasolo ■ Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, recently revealed that distance learning can be applied permanently after the Covid-19 pandemic is completed.
It was based on the Ministry of Education and Culture's assessment related to learning activities by utilizing technology in modern times.
Nadiem rate, the use of technology provides an opportunity for schools to do various modeling of learning activities.
Nevertheless, this policy does not appear to be accepted and rejected by many parties. One of the firm objections came from the Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI).
The Chairperson of the Central IGI, Muhammad Ramli Rahim, said that the implementation of the distance learning process that is completely carried out permanently actually eliminates the role of educators.
"If fully distance learning and no face-to-face we reject. We do not agree that this is 100 percent pure without face-to-face," he said, when confirmed, Friday (07/10/2020).
Long before the pandemic, Ramli Rahim revealed, several educators, especially the IGI, had implemented the teaching and learning process online. However, the learning process is carried out in the form of blended learning or mixed learning.
"So learning face-to-face together online then there is also learning that is indeed face-to-face, but made more interesting for example joining comics, videos, video scrip, joining games, and that we have been working on at IGI for 5 years ago," said Ramli.
Although using distance learning in the form of blended learning, he hopes the concepts given must be clear and orderly. Do not let, he said, only directed to startups such as the teacher's room and several other learning applications.
"If the direction goes there, we disagree because it is a waste of budget. It can be online but a product of the teacher, meaning that the teacher is encouraged to produce the product. Because of this, we suspect that distance learning is directed to lessons such as start-ups, if the direction is towards there, this education will be damaged, "explained Ramli.
The educational learning process is between teacher and student. "Not between one teacher and 1,000 students or 1 teacher for 10,000 students," he stressed. (dawn/net)
